irresistible,
the melody of your song
the unaffordable luxury
I look upon you, longingly
seeking salvation from your smile, or
warmth in your caress
I crave your gentle touch
I recall your cool hands
brushing the hair from my gaunt cheek
as you consumed me, bit by bit
you are the conqueror
a thief of endless souls
I am now, too fatigued
for war
so I fall into your seduction
together, we waltz through shadows and
down decadent streets
wearing only our discord
like the blemishes of conflict
my brilliant fire fades to a dying ember
a tarnished halo, or a crown of thorns?
have I been forsaken?
euphoria, sweet euphoria
Euphoria, Sweet Euphoria
Euphoria, Sweet Euphoria

I have made only one change to your otherwise perfect ditty.hophead wrote:irresistible,

Re: Euphoria, Sweet Euphoria
this is a great poem for today
I'm not sure if this is an homage/tribute to Leonard Cohen but with the tone, the waltz, the crown of thorns ... it certainly feels like it could be.
I like it and the edit of bright pajamas works just fine. (actually if you read or perform it, it would be great to add the pajamas part just to see if people are attending - see if anybodies eyebrows lift)
