Thank you all for your input. I had no idea that such things existed. I thought a DVD was a DVD was a DVD - and a player was a....you get the idea.

I can't say that I'm all that much further enlightened, but at least i have a point of reference. And I know of someone I can reference for further info. So, thanks.

Linda.

Just a minor correction to the useful link given by Richard of frequently asked questions about dvd's It needs an "l" at the end to work!

as in http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html

I'm still mystified and have to call a techie when I hit a problem

Hello Richard,
It's nice to find someone else in NSW who is "into" LC. I didn't know there were LC DVDs. What's available? I don't have much to trade except for LPs sonically enhanced & archived to (using a Omnisonic 801 into Waverepair on the harddrive before burning onto...) CDs of Song of Love & Hate, Live Songs & Most of New Skin for the Old Ceremony.
& the cameras pan, the stand in stunt man
Dress rehearsal rag, it's just a dress rehearsal rag
Cheers

Hi rayc,

Tom, who runs this little corner, is away for the month of August. Before he left, he left a link in the thread Summer Music which has a list of the material available for trading as well as a few misc. items of interest. There is a lot available - check out the link and get involved in a few conversations. People here are very kind to newcomers looking for material.

Sorry folks - there is a typo in the last post I sent. I'm typing one handed, with my left hand held in the air with pressure bandage attached. I sliced into my L thumb with a Stanley knife (box cutter to those from the US) & am amusing myself on line waiting until the flow has eased enough to put a bandaid on it.
See, I'm a little Aussie bleeder for LC's music.
cheers

Editorialism

jarkko,
Thanks. I was wondering how I'd go about that. This is a quite sophisticated engine. Forums on my trade union's site are primitive in terms of editing etc.
I'll be able to fix the odd error without taking up space henceforth.
Cheers
