I thought it would be a great idea if we all wrote a poem together as a forum
The idea is we each post 2 lines of poetry and get as many of the forums poets to add to the poem
Lets see what we can come up with
heres my 2 lines to start;
Tea, Toast and Tears for breakfast
The tea and toast you have to pay for, the tears come free
Forum Poets United
Re: Forum Poets United
great idea, Phil. I'm sorry that my addition is typically subversive but also I'm not sorry at all. this could be such an easy pap game to follow each other with predictable couplets, let's give it some thought and make it develop weirdly instead!Phil Rose wrote:I thought it would be a great idea if we all wrote a poem together as a forum

They are rips in my heart
As you said you must come free
ok, here's 2 alternatives, maybe someone will run with one of them
Tea, Toast and Tears for breakfast
The tea and toast you have to pay for, the tears come free
but fuck the tea and toast
What a liberty
(delicious play with "free" and "liberty" and the cockney repsonse "what a liberty" which means "wot a bleedin' cheek") (notes for our American cousins who may not speak cockney)
Tea, Toast and Tears for breakfast
The tea and toast you have to pay for, the tears come free
The toast is wet
The tea diluted
just a set-up for the next geezer, not much art in itself.

Marie Antoinette said
If they can't have toast
Let them have tears
Or something like that.

My dear boy,
I'm so very very proud of you! To admit that your posts are indeed not meant to help, improve, guide, assist or educate but to subvert is a marvelous breakthrough!
Oh, I'm so happy I'm off for a pint to celebrate!
