Do You Trust Your Teddy?

Teddy bears won’t share
What they’re feeling inside
That puffy, squishy ecstasy
They never will confide.

Their lips are sealed securely
Below a button nose
Spilling their guts ‘bout anything
Just leaves us to suppose.

They never do reveal
Anything I’m told
Concerning past done deeds
Be they funny, wild or bold.

Such fuzzy ears must hear
Buzzwords all the time
But they never speak a single note
Disclosing teddy mind.

Innocence just oozes from
Their cutie-pie brown eyes
These unassuming pillows
Would make such perfect spies.

What they know’s locked up
In cloudy little heads
Silence is their maxim
As they lie there on the beds.

All those secrets held
N’er to be divulged
Can you trust a body
That is bearing such a bulge?

Oh dear ... now my guilt surfaces.
A perceptive poem that has gone straight to my heart like a dagger of ice.
Sorry Big Ted.. I didn't think.

What are your thoughts on this one Albert? :o

An appropriate melody could make this a modern day nursery rhyme.
Interesting verses Laurie. A little out of left field. :)

Cheers, Witty.

Hey-

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, it is a bit out of 'left field.' 8)
I wrote this years ago, when i first got interested in poetry. At the time, i wrote several juvenillia type poems...i do consider this to be a children's poem...but with adult appeal. (hopefully)

thanks,
L

I still worry about what happened to my first Teddy Bear.

That my father one day decided to hand her over to the garbage collectors!

Well maybe that's why I don't talk to him for more'n 20 years now! That's what he deserves: neglection.

Sorry, Laurie. I had to digress.

I like your poem.
