My goodness. After 5 hours I have both reassembled my computer after its annual cleaning, and upgraded from windows 7 to 10. It's nice to discover a Dr and a QC having this pleasant little tête–à–tête in my absence, although I must admit that having no initials either before or after my name makes me feel like the poor relative. I will have to do something about this

had i remained a british subject i would most certainly have been on the queens birthday honours list by now and received the title of 'sir'. however norway is like canada, it avoids class distinction. therefore i am plain mr wren, just as leonard is plain mr cohen. we are the same.

I would never classify either of you as "plain"! A "title" is but an artificial construct, a way for society as a whole to sort out individuals in order to determine who gets to be inside various walls, and who must remain outside. (Even the title of "Mr" has served that purpose.) However, those of us who are enlightened realise that this practice is ultimately meaningless, and that the true value of a person lies not in the external honours bestowed upon them by others, but in the internal character of the individual. One should look beyond the words and letters that one sees before or after a name, and discover what lies within the one who bears that name, because that is what matters most!

you are very kind, lisa. as i have said several times here, i am not only enlightened, but also an intuitive. let it be known that it was i, way back in august 2015, who first confidently 'predicted' in this forum that donald trump would be the president to follow barack obama. leonard probably knew it as well. it doesn't mean we approve of what is going to happen, only that we know it will.
