 WOW! Leonard Cohen and Jimmy Carter together at Pierre Trudeau's funeral. I wonder if the two had ever met before that time. I wonder how familiar Jimmy Carter is with Leonard Cohen's novels, poems and music.

This is funny! Elton John imitating a photo of Leonard

I wondered that, too, about Jimmy's awareness of Leonard on those levels. I was reminded today that, early on in his campaign, he had advocated the legalization of marijuana, but abandoned it when the power structure was so opposed. He felt there were far better uses of the legal authorities' and courts' time. So, he may be aware of Leonard, too. I've wondered the same thing regarding Bill Clinton.

If I have a picture on my site it has nothing to do with advertising, but I guess it's not a strange price for pictures in articles in printed press.

Interesting train of thoughts... Carter had certain ideas about legalisation of marijuana so he might have some knowledge of Leonard Cohen's work?

And who cares if Carter or Clinton knows the work of Cohen anyway?

To answer your last question first, Yankovic did, enough to ask it. I have. That's two. Two, in fact, who were engaging in a dialogue regarding it. I've also wondered about others, and am always delighted [along with others who obviously care, when they make the discovery] when I see that this or that person is, or has been right along, aware of Leonard's work.

To answer your first question second, the legalization of marijuana link has to do with one's approximate age, era, ways of thinking, and hence, perhaps, prior exposure to Leonard's work. There was a cultural movement here during which a marijuana cigarette surfacing was not an anachronism. Some didn't even indulge. On that fact-or-fiction matter, ask Bill Clinton  . I do know, for a fact, however, that after I stopped indulging, I remained present while others continued. I wouldn't have thought I'd have to explain that, but certainly don't mind.

I will never expect others to wonder about the same things I do.

Castro attended Trudeau's funeral, as well, and if I'm not mistaken, he was an honorary pall bearer, same as Leonard. I wonder if he brought Field Commander Cohen a Cuban cigar...

Hmmm... I have a great black and white photo of Leonard at the funeral, but I can't figure out how to attach it here .... someone help me and I will. I see the "insert image" bit, but when I click on it, nothing happens that lets me browse my files.

Jarkko to the rescue, no doubt, as soon as he sees your request. I tried to Copy a photo [not of Leonard] to bring it here, recently. I did what I was supposed to on the right-click portion, but when I got here ~ nothing, not even a Paste option.

Then, I tried to crop a photo for sending to Jarkko for the Gallery, and another for the World Map. Managed to do it, but all the pixels had virtually disappeared, till it was so small as to be irrelevant. I finally had to send them directly to Jarkko for assistance.

I'd like to see the photo of Leonard. Hopefully, soon... :) .

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Marc, by the way, Bobbie :D .

Thanks to Jarkko's wise counsel...

Probably most of you have seen this picture before anyway, but it never hurts to refresh the memory, especially with such a great image as this one.

Merci, Tchocolati... your assistance is very much appreciated! I asked our Grand Master Extraordinaire for help, and he is always so very helpful, but this time he steered me wrong... sent me a link to include in my message, which I did, exactly, but... hehe. ;--)

Yes, it's a great photo of Leonard, indeed.

Thanks again,
Bobbie
