how to make a voodoo doll

Post by Geoffrey »

it doesn't really matter whether the voodoo doll looks like him or not. in the song he says "i'm very sorry, baby, but it doesn't look like me at all!" - but he doesn't realise that it doesn't need to physically resemble him. as long as it has some of his nail-clippings pushed inside the body, or a few strands of his hair stuck to its head; that will suffice. in addition, some other article attached to it that the target has carried around for a while can also be used. you can, if you want, cut out a picture of the victim's face and glue it onto the doll's head - although that's more or less superfluous. once you have made the doll, all you need do is have a packet of pins ready and wait for a full moon to fall on a friday 13th - and . . . voila!

is vodka really necessary? to me that spoils the innocence of the whole process.

just listen to me for a minute. leonard mocked the lady by saying "you can stick your little pins in that voodoo doll; i'm very sorry, baby - it doesn't look like me at all!" am i right? ok. now, let's back up a little bit to near the beginning of the song. he admits "i ache in the places where i used to play!" what does that mean? well, it is obvious to me that the lady had stuck a pin into the doll's genital region. what mystifies me is how a person can claim that a voodoo curse is not working on them while simultaneously complaining of an uncomfortable pain. but the real point is that a voodoo doll does NOT have to look like the target, and 'tower of song' goes a long way to proving exactly that.

judging from your spelling and insolent rhetoric, you are the party guilty of the consumption of alcohol.

Did you two know that voodoo dolls are more often used for good rather than evil. Most Voodoo practitioners do not use pins in Voodoo dolls, and when pins are used, they are used as focusing tools for healing and other positive purposes. Voodo is not a form of the black arts (unless on a film set), it is a recognised religion with over 60 million followers world wide

Voodoo Dolls are made to represent the spirit of a specific person and then asked to call on the forces called Loa…There are many female Loa( goddesses) who’s fist name is Erzulie, although they share the roll of goddess of Love, Art and sex, each has additional things that they protect . Erzulie Dantor is a mixed race woman often portrayed as ‘The Black Madonna’. She is considered heterosexual, but she is also the patron loa of lesbian women. She loves women fiercely, and will defend them to the death. She is considered the protector of newly consecrated Voodoo priests and priestesses, as well as of women and children who are victims of domestic violence, and women who have been betrayed by a lover. She is highly respected and much feared due to her Woman Power. Most Haitian women serve Dantor, enlightened men also serve Dantor, especially men who honor, love and respect women.

Hope this helps in your quest to find a reason why she stuck the pin where she did, maybe Leonard wasn’t enlightened enough?????

I am aware of the current propaganda designed to distance voodoo from black magic/witchcraft. It is an effort by modern acupuncturists to devenomise the idea that the insertion of needles into a body (or pins into an effigy) can be associated with the casting of an evil spell. The fact remains, however, that voodoo and acupuncture are two cheeks on the same asshole, one makes the curse and the other takes the purse - regardless of what can be read in our manipulated media. Yet the point is that Leonard, the intuitive that he is, mentioned voodoo. He seemed to believe that a doll made in his image could be instrumental in the manifestation of a paranormal occurrence. He was loosely echoing Shakespeare's: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." A woman sticking pins into a voodoo doll's codpiece could potentially cause Leonard to feel an ache in his groin, the place where he "used to play". He erroneously assumed that the doll had to look like him.

 Very good!

I'm not surprised he felt an ache in his groin if some woman was sticking pins in it

Ok, so we established this voodoo doll didn't have to look like him, but what i want to know is what had he done to make her want to turn him into a pincushion in the first place? After all we women are never usually that vicious!

Good, and yet unfair. The best poets amongst us would give a kidney in exchange for such a line, and yet such gems drip from these lips without the slightest effort.

Oh, but I beg to differ, Miss Karren. There have been many instances of women attacking unfaithful mens' reproductive organs, one of the most famous being the 'Bobbitt' case of some years ago. History tells us that a woman intent on harming either a man's meat thermometer or his nut-sack is a woman who's slimy sluice has been used as a sperm bank. Revenge is the chauffeur of savagery.

Not that an innocent like myself would know much about such things, but isn't that a bit like biting the hand that feeds you? ;-)
