Hi Adam ~

I like the second one much better than the first. The second's ideas are expressed in unique images and terms. The first one seems rather fraught with various cliches... and I know you don't need to rely on them... unless your intent is to express "Hope" as being a grandiose cliche; but I don't really think that was your intent.
