radio city
Re: radio city
Thank you Mary. Is that for RCMH or overall though? i haven't found any info on the ticket prices to radio city yet...
Re: radio city
Overall - don't know what the prices will be for RCMH. Based on all the others, would think they would start in the $60 dollar range and go up to a bazillion dollars
according to the various postings here. Sorry I couldn't be of more help
.
Best regards,
Mary

Re: radio city
I'm new here, but have been buying and listening to Leonard Cohen's music all my life, and some songs have been keys to transformations and insights. But I'm confused about Radio City dates. The Radio City website lists a date as May 26, and another website listed dates as May 16 AND May 17.... but the overwhelming date seems to be only May 16, with presale to those of us here happening on March 7th. I just don't want to mess up, and I wonder why those other dates are mentioned by seemingly reliable sources. Can we confirm for sure that Radio City is May 16 and only May 16th?
***The confirmed date is May 16. If the concert will be sold out quickly, they may add another night. Let's see. Note that we will not have presales to any of the tentative 2nd nights / Jarkko***

Re: radio city
It is a shame that purchasing tickets for a concert has turned into such a complicated ordeal. With secret codes and passwords, fan club presale, AmEx presale, ticket scalpers, ticket brokers, ticket resalers, box office pickup only, ticket limits, etc......... I am just a humble fan who would love to see my favorite artist in concert. The last time I saw LC was in Milwaukee in the 70's, where I was able to sneak backstage after the concert and briefly meet him. It was simple to buy tickets back then, before the age of the computer and the evil Ticketmaster empire. Why is it so hard now? Why do I have to plan and plot my purchase as if it were a chess game, and I am only a pawn trying to prevail against more powerful players?
I am confused. I see the concert will be May 16th. Then I see AmEx has it listed as May 26th. Now the Village Voice has it as May 16/17th. When can I buy my ticket? The fan club tells me March 7th. Ticketmaster says March 9th. American Express says March 2nd. I am redirected to a site from Village Voice and they have tickets on sale now at some ticket broker for sky high prices! How can they do this, how can they already have tickets when the presales have not even begun yet? Are these real tickets, or if I buy them will I be turned away at the door with counterfeits? How do I know anything is real? After all, these are the days of Photoshop.
How did we come to this? Why has greed taken over the ticket marketplace? Why can't true fans just simply purchase a ticket at a fair price? Why are the scalpers and resellers making more money on the tickets than LC? I am not a spy, secret agent or computer genius....I do not know all of the tricks and the games it requires to score concert tickets. With every safety and safeguard the artist tries to implement, the ticket sharks circumvent. I was froze out of the other NYC concert in February by ticket purchasers more savy than I, will I also get blocked from the RCMH concert? In this economy, I do not have an extra $2000 to pay the StubHub markup.
Is anyone else feeling as powerless and lost as I am? I long to hear "the music on Bleecker Street all through the evening".
I wish all of you good luck in the quest. Let the games begin.

Thank you for your thoughts, sad thoughts. I feel just the same. I think that we have to let LEO know what’s going on ‘cause he might be a little bit detached from savage reality. As for me, for the first time I saw LC in concert in Wroclaw, Poland in the 80’s and it was even worth than is today. The concert was not advertised and it was no internet then around. I was lucky to learn that he is coming to my city just days before the concert and I simply bought the ticket from scalper (in Polish –KONIK) and paid 10 times the face value. Almost all thickets were going to scalpers during that cold COMMUNIST reality. For the second time I saw LC in Stuttgart, Germany in April 1988 and that was as simple as in Milwaukee in 70’s. Me and my friends, we were late and the concert was already in progress and we were admitted for the second part without tickets, just for free and we were sitting close to the stage. And today, today it is just a jungle not because everybody wants to see and hear Leonard Cohen, but because everything can be the source of dirty money and because of the greed of scalpers, swindlers, wheeler-dealers, etc., and sadly I do not see any hope.
I wish everybody good luck to see Master Leo this time, probably last time.

Re: radio city
My experience in the Paul SImon AMEX presale. The most expensive tickets were on sale and they were not the best location. They were side orchestra. Van Morrison had a variety of ticket prices available at AMEX presale. So we will see Monday.
Re: radio city
Jarkko,
I just went onto the ticketmaster site, based on an email alert that a friend received, and they are saying there is a presale for the Radio City show that begins on Monday March 2 at 10am. Do you know anything about this? I've checked the forum, but don't seem to be able to find anything so far that refers to this. Is there some other presale, different from the forum presale, or is ticketmaster incorrect?
Thanks again for all of your amazing effort on our behalf, and for being so patient with all of us.

Thanks, Pancogito.
I also found a different thread on the forum, where the Amex presale is explained a little clearer. Here is the link:

Here's hoping the forum presale on March 7 will work out!
