I am sure people have good intentions and everything, but it's a bit disheartening to see how many people have joined in the past few days and their only contribution to this forum has been in asking ticket-related questions that could be easily found in the very same forum. I know fully well that many aren't too familiar with how the ticketing system works and need help, but it's a bit too much. It's not directed at the poster who started this thread, just a general observation. Just hoping 10% of these recently registered posters would come back after March 7 and participate in discussions.

Good luck to everybody with getting tickets! Radio City will probably be a tough one :(

I know what you are saying, but I just remember when so many of us were finally joining when the tour was originally announced and there was so much controversy over the same subject. Many of us, as a result, finally got the guts to participate and became active members. I agree with you in the hope that they do enter into some of the discussions - after all, it is 'a lovely place to be'.
Kindest regards,
Mary
(P.S. Hope you get fantastic seats for Radio City!)

It's quite simply one of the best run and friendliest places on the Internet. I'm not trying to suck up or anything, but if anybody has spent some time on various message board, they would know what I'm talking about...

Let's hope we all get amazing seats and scalpers will get nothing. This could happen, right? Today has been a very positive experience - looks like tickets didn't sell out instantly and the will-call rule works. So I'm positive!

da2008,
You're right - just about every post is asking about the purchase of tickets  But, I know if it was me, I would greatly appreciate the help :) .

I agree, Mary. Reading how some people were buying their first concert ticket in years today made me very happy  I take a lot of things for granted, but seriously - dealing with ticketmaster is not the easiest battle to fight so I'm more than happy to direct others in the right direction.

Mary,

I have been lurking the boards for sometime. I have followed the threads about the previous tour. I cant say I have followed them daily because sometimes the dates were so far away that I couldnt possibly. I really could not find anything to contribute. That does not mean that I wasnt wishing everyone well and excited when I read about the shows.... Now I was out of town and then out of luck when LC came to my own city. I searched for tickets up until show time and refused to pay the scalpers their price. I have been following the show but its painful to read about HOW close I was and actually way to far away.... I am excited for friends who went and actually not many will "rub" it in by telling me the details of how fabulous a night it was...

That does not mean that I am not a fan or active participant, just a silent one...

Sharon G

can someone answer the question about two shows in Boston and NY.... I am planning to get a ticket at the Wang tomorrow and then come back to two shows in NYC...

I don't understand how companies like Stub Hub are already offering tickets to the Radio City show. Does anyone know how this works? Do they get first crack far in advance? I would love to see the show in NY, but do not want to buy from a place like Stub Hub.

I'm surprised he isn't playing a Montreal date. I know he played here last summer, but I wish he would play again during this tour.

Hi Sharon,

I'm so glad you are finally posting. It seems that so many of us initially felt the way that you did and felt we had nothing to contribute, plus the fear that our posts would be considered 'unworthy' of this forum. Hopefully you will find that this site is a really welcoming place and every post is read, even if it is not answered directly. The first few posts are the hardest, but it does become so easy after a while. Your post is valuable, in that it speaks directly to so many of us regarding our beginning experiences here. I just hope you continue post. To this day I learn something from every post.

Wishing you the best of luck in getting tickets for the shows you want to attend! Maybe there will be meetups and you are able to get to them and have the good fortune to meet people from this forum face-to-face - which is a additional fantastic bonus to an LC concert (another hurdle to overcome  , but you will discover, a very pleasant one :D ).

Best regards,
Mary

Thank you Mary,

This seems to be a welcoming place to post. I am an active member of many music lists and could tell that I could find a home here.

It seems that the SPECULATION TICKETS for Boston and Radio City are for the Saturday night shows. The ones that are not subject to PRESALE. The original Dates had a Saturday show at the WANG and then a second NYC show..

These are the ones that the speculators are posting on Stub Hub etc. There was a tremendous amount of money made in NYC by scalpers. This seems to be a trend in all areas of the entertainment industry, Buy extras to make $$

I always remember that the artist sees none of that.... so out of principle I wont buy them.

Remember you can get Tickets from the Box Office at Radio City or MSG up until the night of the show without ticketmaster fees but for this show, i would not wait.

Yes! I did join to get pre-order tickets but I would have been on this forum long ago if I knew it had existed. Only a few months ago when I googled Leonard Cohen to see if he was ever to go on tour again I could only find mention and dates of his European and Australian tours and this site did not pop up. So-- dont be too hard on us newbies and I will be back for discussion on this forum. I have loved and followed Leonard Cohen now for over 40 years through his music, his poetry, movies made about him etc. So---with all that said I do have a question in regard to ticketing. I hail from OR and HI but must now live temporairly in the throes of LA where obtaining tickets for anything is diffcult. My husband and I plan to purchase pre-sale tickets which state only two may be purchased but we would also like to purchase one for our daughter and sit together. Has anyone dealt with an issue like this before and does anyone have any tips to offer as to how to accomplish it? Please let me know and Im glad so many people may only now be discovering Leonard Cohen!!

da2008,
The cheapest I've seen overall is around $54 plus service charge.

Leilani,
So glad you finally found this website - welcome. Nice to hear you will continue to post. Good luck in your ticket quest!

Mary
