Cia even though it is hard to believe and we are never going to know if it is true or not if you can gain comfort from the belief then just believe it is a similar concept to peoples religious beliefs. There are no definates or proof in religion otherwise everyone would worship the same God.
Someone once told me you are normally just born into the religion of your parents choosing and indoctrination finishes the job.
Those of you who do believe in a God tend to believe what you were brought up with it doesn't make your religion the one for everyone it just makes it the one for you. Which is why I abhor people who preach their religion at me on the basis that only they have the answer. I don't believe in God but I would defend the right of anyone to believe anything that brings them comfort which to my mind is what religion is all about bringing comfort in times of need regardless of your chosen deity.

Very good quote from von Goethe, Cia. I find Paula's accountings not at all hard to believe. I've heard many similar [though not these particular ones] that I also found easy to believe. I know that "collective consciousness" is also purported to be an explanation for them, but I much prefer reincarnation. I hope that you do find some comfort from your readings. I truly believe what is being said.

Greta ~ It was good of you to bring the link here. Forgiveness does play a vital role in our lives [vs. unforgiveness and bitterness]. It's not so much a blame/punishment thing, as it is a clarity and openness for flow of positive energy, dis-ease being a blocking of same. I am not schooled enough to discuss it at length, I just understand the concept that is being suggested.
I'm not suggesting that illness comes only to the unenlightened, or that lack of forgiveness is the only cause of it. However, I am suggesting that lack of forgiveness can create illness. I don't like the "blame-game" when it comes to illness. Illness is a very complex issue that is still being actively studied and theorized. There's much known and much still unknown. Our emotions and holding onto the negative ones can certainly create an imbalance that can directly lead to different varieties of illness, however. It's a case of all apples are fruit, but not all fruits are apples.
