OK, Paula and Lightning, Ebony Eyes and Old Shep bring tears to my eyes because of the sentimentality. I am not putting them down because, if they had not been chosen already, they would have been two that I would suggest. However, the one that really gets me he is Lemon Haired Ladies by Dory Previn...

Michael,
Correct. In case you didn't know, NWA are a black rap group who are definitely anti-semitic and wouldn't like us either.
Happy birthday, son.

James

Rumours

I am amazed that a little poem has resulted in such a debate. I accept that I should not have capitalised the 'derogatory' words but this was done without thinking. I thought that there may have been different attitudes from opposite sides of the Atlantic until I received Mickey's message. A recent ...

For my critics

Last night in the town centre I came across a bin,
Labelled, ‘Unwanted literature, please place within.’
So I wrote a poem and put it in.

OK, I can't sleep.
This is the last verse of a poem I wrote a long time ago.

When one thinks of the currant situation
There isn't much raisin to fear
That a grape will ever be Sultan..
a hermaphrodite cannot be queer
Just fruity.

Sorry.

I'm going to reply to this, eventually, as I have written equally silly things.
However it is late at night and I'm pissed.

Yes, I liked it. And that's not just because you liked mine. Perhaps we have similar styles.

Thanks, Paula, for a breath of sanity.
It was just a jokey poem.
I collect examples of PC every day from the papers and am getting enough for a book.

I definitely intend to go as I love the Greek Islands and have been to Hydra before, but not on a Cohen weekend. I know how to get there but am not sure about the accomodation and cannot seem to find details on this site. Nor can I find out who is going. Can anyone help a computer-illiterate Enhlish...

Thanks Lizzy and Laurie; I do get over-sensitive. It's what comes of being an English, paranoid, manic-depressive! (Half joking)
All the best, G.

Yes, I agree with Linda, despite what you said about my submissions.
Good effort. If I have time I might try.

Rumour has it

I am new to all this and didn't realise that posting a song and a poem would lead to such vitriol! On reflection I should not have capitalised the initial letters of the 'derogatory' words but it was not something of which I consciously thought. I really just meant to comment, in a jokey way, on how...

Rumours

RUMOURS Rumour has it you were born in China, Too tall to be a doll, Too cool to be a cracker. If there is a Chink in your armour I did not put him there. Rumour has it you once lived in France, The lessons that you taught Were all to do with kissing. If there is a Frog in your throat He learned his...
