Suzanne - sampled

Post by Joney »

Imagine my surprise a few minutes ago when my daughter asked me to listen to a song and I said "Hey that's Leonard Cohen". Anyway it turns out to be a sampling of Suzanne by a hiphop guy called "Plan B". My daughter told me she's heard him on the radio here in England.

Clink on the link to his Myspace then down to the music section and "Suzanne".

Absolutely terrible. Yikes.

Agree Sebby, not my cup of tea but it seems this is what young people are listening to. I do quite like the poetry of some rappers though. Thought I should post the link here I think jarrko keeps track and interesting that a hiphop guy is sampling Mr Cohen.

Agreed...very interesting. It's nice to know that he finds value in something like Cohen's music.

Thanks Joney for this fascinatingly gruesome detour in my day. :) It's about the Camden ripper. I have always wondered, why do the English call their serial killers 'rippers'?
Anyway, I sort of like it, it's a bit Eminem (when he sampled Dido).

The chainsaw and the background of those oh-so familiar guitar chords! It is seriously spooky.

I think that might be open to debate.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that in my book Sebby. :)

:? Are they called ripper because they are so bloody (pun intended) good at it?
Like, ‘what a ripper killer that Jack was’?
