Shafted

Post by Byron »

Millions of dollars
Trained thousands of soldiers
To kill hundreds of children
While thousands of mothers
Cry millions of tears
Old 'bucks' and new 'bucks'
To new bucks and old bucks
Who sowed and did reap
While followed by sheep
Waiting to weep
Guns to their left
Guns to our right
Shafted by day
Shafted by night

All Shafted

Dear Byron ~

It's how I feel. It's what you've said. If the British should turn for home, I won't be surprized and it will be fewer dead.....fewer shafted. Sometimes the very best idea is to cut your losses......regroup and listen to world opinion. Headstrong into the abyss solves nothing.

Thank you for putting such simple words together to make such a profound statement, Byron.

Welcome back, Byron.

I observe you changed from the ether to a more solid rock (super hanc petram).

Your lines make me feel the helpless depression again.

Let's give'm the shaft!
