and my toothbrush looks quietly pleased

Post by mat james »

Missing you

Bitter, twisted, paranoid
Sinking into unknown void

I search for laughter in your eyes
Finding loathing and despise

Where is the sparkle in your blue?
Where is the gold in you?

Yesterday,
I found some bulbs
Old and dry
like me

I planted them
Perhaps they will blossom
in spring...

...Your toothbrush is back!
Looking distinctly satisfied with itself
Like my cat
After a night on the prowl

And my toothbrush
looks quietly pleased…

Jamesy,

I'm glad your toothbrush looks quietly pleased!
Fuck it, mine is in the cupboard, dry and unused.
