Do what you can to get one, Vilmos!! You're missing a PHENOMENAL show if you don't go... !!!

Vilmos, I know what you mean about ticket sales. As usual, the tickets for this round of Bruce's tour were officially sold out almost immediately they went on sale, so many of us are left at the mercy of various agencies who easily sell at treble and quadruple the face value and more. I bought (for a ridiculous amount of money, I must be mad etc) a ticket to see him in Birmingham UK next week, but I have not received the ticket yet. This is not unusual of course, but I will not consider myself as actually having a ticket until it arrives, as my credit card was charged in Hungarian currency, even though the ticket agency's address is in London and I thought that a bit strange. I used to get sold out tickets from getmetickets.com, without any problems, but then they got shut down (for selling tickets they didn't have) so I had to go elsewhere.

It sure is a bit of a messy, uncertain and expensive business these days, getting tickets for popular gigs.

I wish you luck in getting a ticket if you can.

A friend of mine is Hungarian and he says to me "never trust a Hungarian, they're all Gypsies"
It sounds a bit harsh. (for the Gypsies!)
I guess you'll know soon if he is right!

They're talking about outlawing that practice here, Diane. It's a predatory process  .

I hope you can get tickets, Vilmos... and I hope YOURS come THROUGH, Diane... no doubt a LOT of money already gone from your card!! The money's worth it, if you actually DO see him 8) . You're going to love his new direction with this concert :D .

Hi Vilmos ~

Does "i m 2." mean that you're going to the concert, too? I hope so :D !

A little later now ~ I was just thinking about your comment, Vilmos, and realized you may have meant that you're a gypsy, too. Was that it? Were you able to get a ticket to the concert?

I meant I am hungarian on my paternal side.
Gypsyish 2 maybe.

I was passing thru the Globe Area,
wanted to see a little of the action.
The resturants were playing loud Bruce songs
with speakers turned to the people in line
for standing places to get close to the stage.
I was offered a ticket by a scalper for official prize,
there was very little commerce.

Hi Vilmos ~

Even though I wish you'd opted to see Bruce in person [especially at regular vs. scalper's price], I can still understand your reasoning :) .

I've personally always had a problem with concerts where you sit far from the stage. My 'rule' has been that if I can't see the whites of their eyes [and not on a screen], I might as well have stayed home and watched it via some other method [presuming there is another], where the sound will tend to be better, anyway.

Bruce's concerts may, indeed, be a party [I wasn't aware of that claim, but not surprized, having now seen him twice]... but I don't go to concerts to 'party' with those around me... if that's what I'm restricted to. Partying to the music with other attendees holds no interest for me, if I don't have an obstructed and good view of the performer[s].

Lizzy, thanks for your excitement for me getting a ticket for the Man! Of course, I was not disappointed. I shall go in search of the Bruce thread to air my thoughts about the concert.

Hi Vilmos, you missed a great show, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Cheers,

Diane

Fer dang sure.
I connected 1999 with Clarence right across the stadium,
he IS one big sooooouuuul man.
Bruce I have only once had eye contact with.
Haven't been close, guess seat tickets were alright.
I knew of him first in 1988, funny that he went past me before.

I don't drink, that's a big difference to those who do,
sometimes there is a bar in the place ...They won't really be
to that degree present, (but) have fun.

I want to be conciously present.
