Roets will perform daily from September 22 to 25.Paarl hosts the culture festival, Cultivaria, from September 21 to 25 this year. This exciting new event with its unique character promises a fusion of pleasure, culture and adventure like never before.
Cultivaria will be hosting a variety of musical productions to woo the senses, including Linger with Anna Davel and Matthys Maree. They will be performing hot jazz and swing hits from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong. Kevin Leo, the award-winning tenor, accompanied by the Sweet Voice Masters, will also be performing live at Cultivaria.
Another one of these exciting shows is a celebration of Leonard Cohen songs, by Mathys Roets (photo left). Leonard Cohen, the man behind world-famous songs such as "Ain't no cure for Love" and "Dance Me 'till the End of Love", is 70-years-old this year. Mathys Roets is one of the very few local artists who can perform Cohen's music in such a meticulous way whilst giving it a fresh new twist. For his performance at Cultivaria, Mathys Roets celebrates Cohen's music in a special concert entitled Songs of Leonard Cohen.
