What do you do when you log on?

Post by Paula »

I just wondered as I have just seen Mirek has covered the same topic as Lizzie on a different part of the board.

When I log on I click on "view posts sinceyou last logged on" does everyone else check all thru the board?

I usually start at the first topic on the forum index and look for new additions since the last time I viewed, and work my way down each topic that has had something added.

It's quite uncanny seeing the news item on Phil Spector. I only read an article about him in one of the weekend newspaper magazines.

I do the same as you, Paula. It seems to be the quickest way of keeping up with the whole board. The only disadvantage is that you have to read through the whole list at one visit, otherwise you lose the ones you have not read. The VP board is better in this one respect, in that it remembers which posts you have read and automatically keeps new ones flagged until you have read them.

Likewise, the process I use is the same as Margaret's....and hope for the best with what Linmag has mentioned. When I saw Spector covered in the news, I figured perhaps Mirek felt it belonged there, so put it there. However, it's just as likely with the reference to perhaps our already being aware of it, that Mirek just didn't see it elsewhere.

It would be churlish to point out that Tysh posted it in the wrong section really, but I will point it out anyway.

It's okay, Partisan, churl away.....you wouldn't be you not to point it out. It was a bit of a dilemma for me, but looking at Jarkko's subtext of description for the News thread, I decided not to post regarding "murder" in the section set aside for news of Leonard. Just seemed it might sully it, somehow, and I did have my own comment to make on it, so just went with the Comments section, instead. But, hey, it is News , and there's an oblique connection with Leonard, so I won't question its being there.....it just didn't happen to line up with my own decision-making on it.
