Prose - Returning Home to Family

Post by Byron »

One day when we are all together
And that day will last forever
We’ll get to meet our family
The black sheep, the heroes, the earth mothers

All who went before us
Babies, girls, women
Babies, boys, men
Owing our lineage to each and all

Their blood running through our bodies
Their spirits meeting and mingling with ours
Having all day to sit and chat and laugh and cry
Friends we never knew

Owing so much to
Talking and listening
Being at one with them
Without conversation

Are we worthy of all they went through
As we take our place in their line
Will new bodies be homes for our spirits
Will our spirits be the new bodies

Are we to emerge from these mortal coils
And be eternally ephemeral butterflies
Flitting, resting
Delighting all who are seeing

Have they been watching over us
For all our lives
How embarrassing
But remembering that each one there was watched in their term

All having nothing to hide
Being greeted as we are
And truth will out
Such openness being a liberating joy

Feeling a freedom
Like the rush of pounding waves
Over your naked body
As you plunge into the surf

Nothing hidden
Everything at one in its element
Returning home
To family

A beautiful piece of poetry and one which means dear to me.
There are times you feel the burning gaze of the ancestors.
It fills your psyche and soul with an intensity.
And you feel their hands on your shoulders
and your genetics are crying out to the source
and you slip into other dimensions
where they exist
and you tap your sub consciouses
to the hidden depths of the iceberg
the latent eternal in us all
and the veils that seperate you from your past
are really very small
Beautiful work Byron.............salute.

Two beautiful works.
I love that poetry if infectious.

One's life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others, by means of love, friendship, indignation, and compassion.
