Do You Have All 3 Versions of Total Eclipse of the Heart?

Post by YankovicGretzky »

I found all three versions of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" from 1983, and now I have all of them on my iTunes! Yippie!

The first version, which is the full version, is 7:00 minutes long. This is the version which includes the lines about the boy who always wanted her the way that she was. It also includes the male voice who keeps saying turn around bright eyes, over and over at the end of the song. This version is on Bonnie Tyler's album "Faster Than the Speed of Night."

The second version is 5:34 long. This is the version that was used in the single and music video. This version was the gender neutral version. The line about the boy who always wanted her the way that she was is not included in this version. Both men and women could sing this one. This version also includes the male voice at the end of the song, singing turn around bright eyes, over and over. This version of the song is on The Billboard Top 10 of 1983 CD. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000 ... nce&n=5174

The third version is also gender neutral. Plus, the song fades out at the end after just one "turn around bright eyes." This version is only 4:30 long. It's on a greatest hits CD.

The images in that video can't be erased from my mind's eye. Spookie and lovely. Although it was a little too far towards playing on every school boy's fantasy. But what the hell!
