Sentries on ice glazed squares
Darkened sky with frost winds
Moon gleams through the grayness
Silent still moment of eternity

The last few that survived
Live under dazed stupor
Rations and small talk diet
Guilt ridden pathetic huddles

The button was pressed
Rage spread from the streets
Impassionate dialogue decreed
Resigned failure demonic apparatus

Wasteland horizon simmering death
Ear-splitting sounds and clamor
Then all fell vacant
Humanity reaching its epitome?
breathe deep and live
