ASLEEP

Post by Boss »

Last night
I was fast awake
when G-d nudged me
to get up

When I was wide asleep
I asked him
"Who are you?"
he answered "Who you are"

I fell awake

I agree, Sandra, I've not discussed much with Boss, but I feel a discussion regarding his poetry (with accompanying interpretive insight) would be most enlightening.

Thanks Boss,
Linda.

my brother Boss may be ASLEEP now but when he wakes from deep and wholesome time he will look around and declare "if only I had a present to bestow upon my Beloved".

I know I have answer, good and pure.

Morning, Boss,

When your brother is no longer ASLEEP, I'm sure you'll be very happy to receive such a lovely gift, as your brother's Beloved. I am so happy for the all of you.

You should try to receive chocolate bars and wines also.

Linda.

Of course, your brother might not find wine, good and pure, which is fine. Chocolate is good and pure. As are flower pictures.

What do you want to know? I wrote this poem around 13 years ago in the morning after a strong dream sequence. My fiancee and I were living in the forest - a quaint little house.

I had the idea to invert "fast asleep", "fell asleep" and "wide awake" to give my poem a different slant - some flavour. The vital section "Who are you?" "who you are" is really a basic mystical reference or theme that sages and prophets have expounded throughout the ages. Is there indeed something divine in us? I was not in league with the florist from Russia and not being an American, nor a child of the Beatnik culture, I have only read very little Charles Bukowski. Thanks

This reminds me of the times when you are slightly awake yet not aware that you are awake and hallucinate.

I like the response we are all divine beings in Christianity it is said that we are created in Gaud’s image. In the Shambhala lineage we say that we are all Buddhas awakened beings…
