Which is the most sensual Cohen's song
According to all of you, which is the most sensual Leonard Cohen's song. Lyrics, instrumentation and voice must be considered as one. It's that ONE that must be most sensual than the others.
For myself, I go with «You have loved enough»
For myself, I go with «You have loved enough»
One for the money
Two for the show
Three to get ready
Go man go
I said tell me Mr. Siegal
How do I get out of here
Two for the show
Three to get ready
Go man go
I said tell me Mr. Siegal
How do I get out of here

Most sensual
difficult, so many to choose from, but I think I go for "light as a breeze"
"I'm sick of pretending,
Im broken from bending
I've lived to long on my kneese"
"...she said drink deeply pilgrim,
but don't forget there is still a woman
beneath this resplendent
chemise"
"...so I knelt there at the delta
at the alpha and the omega
I knelt there like one who believes
I like a blessing come from heaven"
for something like a second
I'm cured, and my heart is at ease"

1. Paper Thin Hotel
2. Tonight Will Be Fine
3. Light as a Breeze
...in that order.
p.s. oops...I meant Tonight will be Fine when I put Lady Midnight at no. 2.
As for the oneness as Andrew puts it, it would be Paper Thin Hotel as in the studio recording of Death of A Ladies Man.

According to September-Cohen's oneness in the original posting on this string, there is an outstanding Cohen song for me: it HAS to be "If It Be Your Will" (live version, as recorded on his "Leonard Cohen Live" album).
I have written in some detail about this version on a thread I kicked off elsewhere on this board, so I invite correspondents to read what I and others have spoken about this sensual/ transcendental masterpiece.
Yours,
Andrew.
