Poetry Comp judging timetable

thanks all who entered. I have collected them but not read any yet. I will read and judge by Tuesday and the first prize of a night out with Paula in London can be arranged with P, herself.

Ok, i am calling foul. NOW you tell us Paula is the prize. You knew very well i had no time to write a poem, but for Paula i could have made an exception.
Just had land law and got criminal on thursday. Joy.

i wonder if anyone wrote their "secret passion" poem about paula, and then won the grand prize. ahahahahaha. that would not only be coincidental, but, well, poetic!

Seedy here is the timetable.

8:00 Breakfast (Greasy Pete's)
9:00 Get bus 176 to Trafalgar Square to begin tour of London
10:00 Still on bus (traffic's bad) at Camberwell
11:00 Still on bus (broken down) Elephant and Castle
12:00 Arrive Trafalgar Square
1:00 Arrested (somehow walked into a Protest March)
2:00 Police Station
3:00 Horseferry Road Magistrates Court where our plea was accepted.
4:00 Get bus 176 home
5:00 Nearly home!
8:00 Home dinner at Greasy Pete's

Greasy Pete's???

Do not use my namesake in vain. I'm sure he serves the finest lean bacon and fresh sausages all grilled to perfection with an accompaniment of mushrooms picked each morning at sunrise when the dew helps preserve the fragrance. I am sure that the eggs are poached and not fried and are the best free range egss from hens that wander those same woods from whence the mushrooms came.
I would expect that the table cloths are freshly laundered and his apron shows pictures of fresh fruit and vegetables..possibly courgettes and aubergines.
I also imagine that there are no mugs of tea..only best china made in Worcester for the discerning diner who is looking for a unique blend of tea leaves that help enhance the taste of the breakfast.

Yes Paula..you may call it Greasy Pete's..he may call it Greasy Pete's.. but I am sure that you are disguising the fact that it is a favourite haunt of connoisseurs of fine cuisine in London Town.

I cannot, for one minute, believe that a Pete would degrade his good name with grease. I think you are teasing us.

Pete the bacon is fried, the eggs are fried, the chips are DEEP fried, the mushrooms ..........fried, the black pudding fried, the bread fried, (all with best quality lard) the mugs cracked and chipped, the sauce bottles coated at the rim, the apron non-existent, the tables coated with previous food, the ashtrays full, I saw you there the other day I did wave but you might not have seen me through the smoky haze

Paula, could we meet at my place in stead of?

I can manage a light dinner straight from the can and it would spare me to travel all around London town?

Usually I only cook things, but I would make a try on frying spagetti bolognese - sounds tasty ay?

Now do I have to wait until tuesday to collect my prize - this judge is driving me insane - how much time does he need to see a diamond amongst trash. And is he the right to judge in the first place?

was it the mention of black pudding? We could always get pie, mash and jellied eels and liqour or a deep fried Mars bar (in batter). I don't want you to think British food is inedible
