Sorry, can't agree.
I'm not sure how one can butcher a song with such lines as "I was vaseline", etc.
The whole song is a magnificent prank that butchers - on its own - the poetry itself. It's witty and free, so why shouldn't we let anyone else just to continue the masquerade?
Anyway, that's great, in my opinion, that one of the finest British bands of our time (2 albums, both were #1 in the UK!!) covers LC.
