New rendition of LC Classic 'Dance me to the end of Love' by Andi Kerl

Post by elcotillo »

To whom it may concern:

the Leonard Cohen masterpiece "Dance me to the end of Love" is living up once again in a new rendition by Andi Kerl + Band. All embedded in a beautiful guitar environment, Andi Kerl delivers the vocal part from some sort of a dope lying-on-a-couch perspective, while his creative partner Michael W. Wicke introduces with complex saxophone arrangements. Throughout the 4:42' of the song, Wicke's jazz informed soprano will create a vivid counterpart to the dense melancolic atmosphere of the lyric. "Dance me to the end of Love" was destined to be a hit record in it's day - in terms of sound and arrangement, in spite of it's uncommon lyrical content. Here, the neatly polished surface is, if you will, deconstructed and stripped from it's virile glory. Thus it has been transposed into our decade.

The line up: Vocal, guitars, bass: Andi Kerl; Saxofones: Michael W. Wicke, Drums: Simon Rauland
"Dance me to the end of Love" is track #3 of Andi Kerl's recent 5-track EP 'Walt is back!' available as exclusive download.
