Together, we are going jointly to locate the Devil
and together outsmart him so bad
that he comes crawling for forgiveness.
He will be on his knees apologising
(interrupting my eulogising)
that he hasn't been bad enough.
My interest in him will fade if he begs,
i will take out my chopper
and piss on his legs
wee forever
My interest in you
however will never
stop.
We forever
People sometimes mistake
you for the devil.
Mistaken identity
Mistaken identity
yeah, well, errrrm, hum, yeah, ok, I dunno, articulation is not my fing, who cares, SHUT IT YOU MUPPET, blah blah blah
Re: Mistaken identity
(sue is playing with the devil and he seems pretty hot, except for the begging)
glad to see you posting poems again Sue.
As per usual Mr. Sue, there's some nice word play going on but also some mystery that feels reserved for N and the devil.
~
I had a question about the word chopper but I found a page specific to british slang and I've got that all sorted out now ... (over here a chopper would be a harley or a kitchen gadget that cuts your onions)

Hi Sue,
Thanks for the pome. You know just recently I pondered Satan or Lucifer or Devil or Iblis. And the more I pondered the more I could see that he was all tied up in death, or our fear of it. And as you allude to, the entire idea will fade into History - the devil idea that is. But the cold reality of Death will never be forgotten. Ever. Thanks again, Sue. Every bit helps.
Cate, I have booked my ticket for the 11th of January (I call it Reuben). How close is Toronto to New York?
Thanks you two mates,
Adam

Re: Mistaken identity
You are so unlucky, Adam. Toronto is normally closest to New York later in January. Depending on the weather of course you will probably be about 500 miles away. I have checked Craig's List and on your exact dates you can expect Montreal to be just 15 minutes away from The Big Cheese. There is plenty to do there and the Niagra falls in particular are well worth a visit.

Eternal, self-subsisting, even merciful at times? You know just recently I pondered Satan or Lucifer or Devil or Iblis. And the more I pondered the more I could see that he was all tied up in death, or our fear of it. And as you allude to, the entire idea will fade into History - the devil idea that is. Satan tempted Eve into knowledge by promising eternal life - while God stood by. Lucifer is a golden-voiced singer who sings of his/her thirst for life. Iblis refused to bow down to Adam with the other angels, preferring life with knowledge to zombieism without.
Nearly all scientific evidence points to the eventual disappearance of death from history. Nearly all spiritual evidence points to the eventual disappearance of death from history.
The artificial scaffolding of preaching limits intellectual boundaries, is the worst of it, for Atheists and believers alike. It's not about death or the fear thereof. it's more of a contest between life motivated by love of money or life motivated by love of life, and maybe lots of other stuff.
People are only motivated by the fear of death a few times in their life, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view.
If that's really how you feel, that the "devil" wants people to follow him or her because they fear death, I doubt he or she would contradict you. I certainly woudn't - again.
If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
If you want a partner
Take my hand
Or if you want to strike me down in anger
Here I stand
I'm your man
If you want a boxer
I will step into the ring for you
And if you want a doctor
I'll examine every inch of you
If you want a driver
Climb inside
Or if you want to take me for a ride
You know you can
I'm your man
Ah, the moon's too bright
The chain's too tight
The beast won't go to sleep
I've been running through these promises to you
That I made and I could not keep
Ah but a man never got a woman back
Not by begging on his knees
Or I'd crawl to you baby
And I'd fall at your feet
And I'd howl at your beauty
Like a dog in heat
And I'd claw at your heart
And I'd tear at your sheet
I'd say please, please
I'm your man
And if you've got to sleep
A moment on the road
I will steer for you
And if you want to work the street alone
I'll disappear for you
If you want a father for your child
Or only want to walk with me a while
Across the sand
I'm your man
If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
Re: Mistaken identity
Hi Adam, Toronto is about 800 k.m,, from New York city (I don't know why Sue is using miles - do they still use miles in the U.k.?), a 9 - 10 hour drive. Hopefully the weather at our end of the world will turn a little more seasonal for you and you'll have some snow during your visit.

Re: Mistaken identity
The point being to rethink Satan and his aliases as creations of man - or God, if you like, since God is responsible (as we attempt to suspend unbelief in the name of reason once more) for man's sentient state.
All paths could lead to the hub, from which they originated.
Perhaps God even has a mask to please every type of Atheist.
