from an artist of your calibre this comment means very much, greg - thank you. i have been enviously studying your 'banjo' work, a level of excellence i am unlikely ever to achieve. good to know you have started to paint again! :-)

Ha! In black coffee... that only adds to its ambiance on the canvas.
Beautiful.

thank you. this quick little sketch has attracted an unexpected amount of interest.

it was not done on canvas, lizzie, but thick 42 x 30cm (300 gram) textured grain paper. canvas is fine for paint, but would doubtfully absorb coffee so well.

i was just larking about with a friend during a workshop evening, was never meant to be taken seriously - so these kind remarks are a nice surprise. very appreciated :-)

I am so glad to read this post. Well, personally I don’t like coffee and I drink it very rarely. I prefer drinking the homemade Green energy drinks instead of coffee or tea. I suggest everyone to start drinking these health drinks. If you don’t have time for making them you can also buy that from market.

hello adrian. thank you. it is always a nice surprise to see a new message appear in a thread believed forgotten. unfortunately my internet connection has been limping along for the past day or two, as sometimes happens in the remote area in which i live. as soon as it improves i look forward to visiting the link you have provided. at the moment my server takes too long to download each page. in the meantime i can say that i do occasionally drink green tea, and also timian tea.

Geoffrey, I keep coming back to this painting of coffee leonard for my daily fix. I love the colour and the painting is truly wonderful. I don't wonder it sold so fast. This is your best so far, for me, anyway. Feel free to keep wowing us though. :D

hello again cheshire gal. am so glad you keep coming back, and you even take the time to post a message. the quietness of this forum is the beginning of the end, i fear. it will not be long before the webmaster makes the sad announcement of its closure, you can be sure. even messages in the 'news' column no longer attract very much response. it's the end, you mark my words. there will probably be about a week's notice, i should think - and the forum will be history. the website will no doubt continue for a short while longer. it will be nice for jarkko to be able to relax a little more, as this lark is time consuming. if there's anyone who wants to stay in contact with me i am on facebook. i do have an email address, of course, but it sends an automatic reply because i am not clever at answering personally.

yes, this painting is now owned by a person in the UK. she seemed quite pleased with it. the message i received was: "I am happy to report the safe arrival of the most exquisite masterpiece in existence. I'm besotted. I had to force myself to unroll it and cover with heavy objects. I hope it will be ok while I look for a suitable frame. Thank you my über talented precious love xxxx" i don't know what 'uber' means, or why she wrote in german(?) - but i am sure it's a nice positive word. i have no more leonard portraits up my sleeve, cheshire gal, but i can feel another one coming on, so maybe it won't be long before i am compelled to do another. what about you, don't you do anything like this? it's not hard, especially if you paint every day. saw an amazing film yesterday, called 'youth' - a couple of times it was so moving that i wept. good to know jesus and i have something in common. do you think leonard has ever cried? of course he did when he was a baby, but i mean as an adult. what would have made him do that, do you think? maybe he will cry when jarkko tells him it's closing time in here, of course he will, he can't be so hard.

Hello Geoffrey. I sincerely hope we will not lose the Forum, and I don't think we will. Think about future generations of Cohen fans, who unfortunately will not have the pleasure of seeing Leonard Live in Concert, but who will be able to enjoy the postings of many who have been so fortunate. I, myself, feel so very happy to have been one of them.

Quite often I will listen to a concert from this past tour, then go the Forum files to get the feel of that particular night as experienced by the audience. Of, course, we have videos in many cases too. It is unthinkable to me to lose this vast array of information.

Then, of course, we have your art and sense of humour too, to look forward to. :D :D
