Just a quick and careless doodle??
I wish my doodles looked like that!
I'm curious to know how long that took you to do?

dear karren. you are too good to me. how are things? hope all is well with you. i didn't time this little sketch, but less than 15 minutes i am sure. it's quite tiny (about 20 x 20cm) - one of the smallest i've done. i used what was at hand, mostly a black felt-tip pen, plus one or two coloured marker pens that people use to highlight text. also some white correcting fluid. splashed a bit of red and green paint on it at the end. it was never intended to be a proper painting, hence the 'doodle' description. you are kind to show an interest - very appreciated.Karren B wrote:I'm curious to know how long that took you to do?xx

Re: bob dylan
Hi Geoffrey, nice to see you have been released. I have two requests. Could you attempt a drawing of Bob Dylan some time ? Also, have you ever tried sketching a Naked Ironer at her board, legs akimbo, lips parted, plying her honest trade for money
Thanks
Sue
Thanks
Sue

Well Geoffrey, I am amazed that it only took you 15 minutes but even more amazed that you can achieve that with just felt tip pens and correction fluid. What sort of paper or card was it doodled on, it looks like a linen card or even canvas (though it's hard to tell from a photo)?Geoffrey wrote:dear karren. you are too good to me. how are things? hope all is well with you. i didn't time this little sketch, but less than 15 minutes i am sure. it's quite tiny (about 20 x 20cm) - one of the smallest i've done. i used what was at hand, mostly a black felt-tip pen, plus one or two coloured marker pens that people use to highlight text. also some white correcting fluid. splashed a bit of red and green paint on it at the end. it was never intended to be a proper painting, hence the 'doodle' description. you are kind to show an interest - very appreciated.Karren B wrote:I'm curious to know how long that took you to do?xxxx
Please please don't be tempted to sketch Sue and her Ironing board!

it was just an offcut from something else i did - 300 gram textured grain paper. it is quite thick and tolerates any amount of water. you can buy rolls of this stuff in most art shops, or even A3-size blocks. have a go, karren - after a while you'll see how easy it isKarren B wrote:Well Geoffrey, I am amazed that it only took you 15 minutes but even more amazed that you can achieve that with just felt tip pens and correction fluid. I think I'll leave the painting to the experts, unless it involves a 10 litre can of weathershield which I'm just about to paint the cottage with!it was just an offcut from something else i did - 300 gram textured grain paper. it is quite thick and tolerates any amount of water. you can buy rolls of this stuff in most art shops, or even A3-size blocks. have a go, karren - after a while you'll see how easy it is
That phrase triggered a memory of something my English teacher said to me... He always referred to me as 'The cream of the class' ...'Rich and Thick'! ...it is quite thick and tolerates any amount of water.

He grew to love me in the end, I became a pleasant distraction, and my grades greatly improved, though I never did grasp the English language!Geoffrey wrote:why dint you put a cap in that mo'fckers ass!!Karren B wrote: That phrase triggered a memory of something my English teacher said to me... Re: bob dylan
Stare at Geoffrey's painting and it is not just Jesus Christ but it is also Mother Teresa. A subtle combination of those 2 popular icons. Forget Dylan. Geoffrey is making a religious statement
