What can of other fuss or scandal a near 80 years old artist like LC may do in the media?
Marketing from the part of his manager.
Here is a statement from the Conspiracy Theories Dot Com

"He can love the shape of human beings, the fine and twisted shapes of the heart. It is good to have among us such men, such balancing monsters of love."
Upon further contemplation of the site, it's a humor site. I failed to notice this fact because the piece about Leonard Cohen wasn't, you know, funny. Sorry, folks.
There must be a kind of search engine which looks for the appearances or activities of mega stars in the media. Then some light headed people create laughable buzz around the buzz.
During the last tour, the blond labrador of Leonard Cohen had a surgery in emergency and he was seen giving a diamond ring to a pretty young woman in a restaurant after a concert (Leonard, not the labrador).
While everybody knows he was abducted by extraterrestrians, (the labrador, not Leonard Cohen), and it was the pretty young woman who asked Mr. Cohen to be his fiancee.

I'd say the chances of the Labrador giving a diamond ring to a pretty woman in a restaurant are about equal to those of LC doing so. I mean, he might very well give a pretty woman a ring, but in public? In a restaurant?
We can joke of everything but not with everybody, they say. Don't ask me who "they" are.
What else about those funny guys ? Oh! Yes. The Man was reported dancing Gnangnan Gtyle (you know the fake-like-on-a-horse dance, that was a hit about a wwwbillionyearsago, Internet time ?) on his balcony at night. Because he was challenged to do it on stage or something.
But if you want my serious opinion about his private life : I feel it is absolutly none of my business.
