Wave the soiled! (yet another tribute to our Judge)

Post by Critic2 »

the first is another poem exalting our hero, Mr Joe Way!! Put your hands together, Ladies and Gentlemen.

the second is a song performed by the late Frank Sinatra, who had no Mafia connections at all.

God Bless you all, you've been a lovely audience.

LOVE AND KISSES

And now the end is near
And so I face the final poem
My friend I’ll say it clear
None of you is Leonard Cohen

I have an inbox that’s full
I’ve unravelled each and every title
And more, much more than this
I did it Joe Way

Clichés, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through as that’s convention

I panned each cursed verse
Each careless step along the byway
But more, much more than this,
I did it Joe Way

Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off you know who
But through it all, when paints crawled out
I ate him up and spat him out
I faced the trolls and I stood tall
And did it Joe Way

I’ve loved my girl Lakeside
I’ve had my trolls, and watched them losing
And now as they subside
I find it all so amusing

To think I did all that
And may I say- not in a shy way
No, oh no not me
I did it Joe Way

For what is paints, what has he got?
It’s just himself, and that is naught
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of fast-food meals
The records show he’s just a troll
But I did it Joe Way

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I’ll say it clear,
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain.

I’ve lived a life that’s full.
I’ve traveled each and ev’ry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried.
I’ve had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

My dear sweet boy,
So very sad is this. Once again you have shown that light witty unoriginal verse is all you have to offer.

This is fine if making it into Readers Digest is your goal. But come now, we all know you aspire to greatness but lack the discipline to be properly taught.

So, you've had yet another little clever moment. Bravo! Now, back to those lessons.

Poll Update, Joe is 100% ahead. Come on, Sinatra fans, don't let Joe get away with it so easy!

first vote for Frankie
Joe is sweating
and pulls out his hanky
in comes a troll
and says the whole thing
is w**ky

(Americans wouldn't get this word anyway)

[I got it, that word ~ having been around a Brit or two, in my time.]

Anyway, I can tell you one thing I know, Frankie's no Joe Way. Hence, the vote doubles for Joey.

yes, Lizzie I agree. But although Frankie's prospects are grave these days, he is putting up a stiff fight.

On the other hand, getting to dine with ol' blue eyes might include some personal transition we won't be ready to want.

Joe "Impartial Jdge" Way, is a very remarkable person - less known, less dead than FS.

Thus it's Joe I'd want to dine with.

10 votes! I think we are only about 1,000 away from a statistically significant sample.

My inside information is that the Joe Way camp is relaxed but the Sinatra camp are a little stiff.
