Slimy cats are purring,
Across the paper way,
As laughing apples open,
The door ‘tween
Night and day.
You think kites of wonder,
In the tunnels of the moles,
Looking for the button,
That’s lost it’s button hole.
The rainbow nights of crying,
The rubber coloured car,
Are wobbling in the bathroom,
Are laughing at the bar.
As I stammer fishy kettles,
And you wonder what I mean,
As Ginger and her Rogers,
Dance on the rubber scene.
And the cats and dogs
Stop raining,
And the man in the moon
Does sigh,
As Jesus the carpenter,
Pulls another plank
From within my eye.
Slimy cats keep purring,
For us to set them free,
As the oranges and lemons,
Fall from the apple tree.

Re: Slimy Cats
We are a mote-ly crew, aren't we?
