story of a drunk

Post by peter danielsen »

It should have been needles
but this bottle is fine
the wine is authentic
and your smile is a sign

And sorrow is always
the lonely hearts call
so cheers to you baby
let go, have a ball

We will drink all night
and then weep all day
my soul is a hunter
and your heart is the prey

I dont even care
if I die from it all
so cheers to you baby
let go, have a ball

Hi Peter,
You've really captured the sad, sorrowful, and fatalistic view of an alcoholic/drug addict....who realizes there's a problem, but hasn't determined or decided what to do about it. It's full of dark feeling and captures the drunk.

very fatalistic but thats how addictions can be. Beautiful summary of the psyche of self destruction. Excellent!!
