Mabel

While I was in the mood a few days ago, I decided to have some fun and wrote this "country rock performance"...

Tom

Mabel (a simple song's live performance)

(this is a simple song, folks.
just pick up the tune
and sing along...)

i met her on the train nine-oh-eleven
i soon felt like i was in heaven
but when she deceived me i sent her to hell
my sweet may bell

she was a beauty beyond all compare
she wore beautiful flowers in her long blonde hair
she whistled a tune i will never forget
and then she bent down and she took of her hat

i met her on the train nine-oh-eleven
i soon felt like i was in heaven
but when she deceived me i sent her to hell
my sweet may bell

we stayed together for a year in a row
i have to confess i loved her so
that when i remember there are tears in my eye
and i'll never forget her final cry

i met her on the train nine-oh-eleven
i soon felt like i was in heaven
but when she deceived me i sent her to hell
my sweet may bell

(of course the neighbours called the cops
but i got away in spite of all the blood
after all my family is not without influence
and the DA now lives in a beautiful house)

when she was buried i wasn't there
i didn't want to look at her ash-blonde hair
i bought myself a ticket, and i boarded the train
for without a woman i'd sure go insane

i met her on the train nine-oh-eleven
i soon felt like i was in heaven
but when she deceived me i sent her to hell
my sweet may bell

(now it's time to introduce the band:
there's charlie manson on drums,
ed kemper on bass,
hannibal lecter on slide guitar
and - oh one of the choir girls is missing...)
my sweet may belle
my sweeeeeeeet
maaaaaaaaaay
beeeeeeelllllllll

I don't know if it was supposed to, Tom, but this sure raised a chuckle from me
Thank you for helping to start my day with humour.
"... to make a pale imitation of reality with twenty-six juggled letters"
"... all words are lies because they can only represent one of many levels of being"
Sober noises of morning in a marginal land.

Hey Jo,

this "piece" definitely was intended to raise a chuckle. If it helped start one of your days with humour - great!

Cheers

Tom
