People who have been inspired by Leonard Cohen

Post by middlemarchgirl »

Believe it or not, I only heard of Leonard Cohen about 2 years ago. I was immediately blown away. The man, of course, is a genius. (He is also gorgeous as well. How can a person of that age still be so unbelieveably sexy? Must be attitude and "New Ideas." ) The point I'd like to make and the question I'd like to ask is this: who has been inspired in any way by Cohen's music? For instance, my husband is a writer. He's spent the last two years writing a book called Coopers Moon. The entire time he wrote, Leonard Cohen's music was playing -- either blasting or lightly in the background. But it was a similar scenario to that of a Pavlovian dog -- play the Cohen CDs and my husband, Connie, would type away. How cool is that! Thank you to Mr. Cohen, for being the muse to his work. Who else has been inspired by his work in any creative way?

I suppose we have all been inspired by Leonard in one way or another.
Yes, a lot of ladies still find him sexy. Can you imagine what we all felt seeing him in the 1960's, 70s and later too? He was my idol then and still is. At first I admit it was probably his incredibly
good looks, but then we saw something deeper. He actually MEANS what he is singing about.
Not many artists can do that, they just belt out the words.
Sorry you missed out on some years, but you can make up for it now you know about him.
Somebody must have died for you
