Post by Teratogen »

i think he's fucking awesome. i met him once, got a picture with him... and i look forward to meeting him again, which will be in about 2 weeks!

i put him up there on the highest pedestal with leonard cohen. there's not very many artists i have up there... but it's a wonderful sight to see them up on my version of mount rushmore. what an imagination i have... hahaha.

I have a copy of Transformer somewhere, but I don't think I've heard much of his since.

I've been listening to Lou for over thirty years. I have all of his cds and all of the Velvet's cds. I'd like to see Lou and Leonard collaborate on some music.

Kinda like some holy trinity, Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith.
I used to think John Cale was the strongest of the Velvet alumni but lately it's been Lou again.
Well, I dig them all for different reasons so they all make a whole for me.
John Cale plays here in Minneapolis this Thursday the 28th, I know I'll be there.

PATTI SMITH! i saw her TWICE in 3 days, one time front row! hahaha. very good. but i'm not so sure she'd fit all that well with lou and leonard. well, perhaps she could. i'm not saying it's a bad idea. it would be MARVELOUS. perhaps it's just that i haven't listened to her as much as i have lou and leonard.

I got into Nico first and then The Velvet Underground. Yes I do like him. Is he still with Laurie Anderson? She is someone else I really admire.

yes, he is still with laurie. in fact, november 5th i am going with two friends to see her perform at ucla. the next day, the 6th, we are going to the all tomorrow's parties festival, curated by this indie band, modest mouse, and lou reed is the headline. not only that, but like i said in the first post, we got backstage passes!

I hope you enjoy Laurie. I have all her work on CD a couple of books and the video. I went to a performance years back when she was presenting the Meltdown Festival at London's Soutbank. A wonderful evening I will never forget.
