I serch in vein
for bloody place
to inserting my needle
inject sum energy
into a dismalling life
which began so long
a
go
when I was born
no one shouted "hooray"
or gave me the clap
and nor do they
now
so
y is that?
who can say?

1. first you make the batter and the pastry creme; [that's today]
2. then, tomorrow, you make the crepes and assemble them.
.. so, I gotta get a move on.
.. anyway, I'm hopeful that this poem of yours indicates you are in one of the first phases of withdrawal. Next comes absolute agony. Followed by sheer misery. Followed by a sustained period of dull indifference. Followed by a sense that you can't go on. Only, you will. [if only not to make a liar out of Beckett]
[that's what's known as literary indebtedness]
[by the way, who do you think you're fooling with "no one gave me the clap"?]
[remember, this is a, uh, "seasoned" audience, fish]
[my god]
.. anyway, hang in there, fishie. Meanwhile, just know I'm pasting together this haphazardly annotated chapbook for you. Once done, I'll be taking it to Simon & Schuster, even though Girls on the Rag [a sleazy subsidiary of Incoherent Press] would probably be a more likely choice. But I figure, start at the top.. since there will be a lot of other pretty lousy choices all the way down to the bottom, fish--so, best to get a leg up on things. [a line inspired by your line of work, in fact] [and no doubt one of your more profitable lines, at that] [just realized]

Dr. V.D. Flowers [crepe connoisseur].. [with new dreams about custard, actually]
[just for you, fish]..

.. gosh, fish.. I just listened to that song I posted again, and it was getting me all depressed. So, I posted something more in keeping with your, uh, oeuvre. [pretty sure]
later, fish..
Dr. V.D. Flowers.. [I did the batter.. now the creme]

perhaps between your toes Madame Fish
Violet ... that ... is a very pretty colour of purplish/pink. Good luck with your crepes.
~~
btw - nice word play with vein and needle

.. thanks, Cate.. I'm still not in the clear yet with this crepe business, but will comment on that "other" thread.
.. [by the way, Cate.. I wouldn't make any mention as to where fish might.. well, you know.. inject the junk].. [I think she's only half conscious when she writes this stuff to begin with, so you're just giving her ideas].. [sad to say]

"We wait. We are bored. No, don't protest, we are bored to death, there's no denying it. Good. A diversion comes along and what do we do? We let it go to waste... In an instant all will vanish and we'll be alone once more, in the midst of nothingness!"
