Roger Daltrey

Post by Henning »

I took that first solo LP called "Daltrey" from the shelf - always impressed by that powerful voice and these simple melodic songs and the beautiful strings. It's been a long rainy summer and the days have cooled down now. I worked hard and failed and I was just a boy. Eloquent I soon retire but before that I take my first listen to Nick Cave's and Marianne Faithful's latest CD. Mondays don't come easy to me .... but they are leaving behind the most depressing day of the week: Sunday ! How do YOU feel about the weekdays ?

Dear Henning,
Roger Daltrey was/is one of my rock heroes since 1965.
Sunday afternoon found me listening to "Baba O'Riley" (live track from Leeds, 1978) and "See me, Feel me" ( live track from Woodstock, 1969).
I also played the whole of "Smile"; the great long-lost album from Brian Wilson.
Oh, I almost forgot: an album of Cole Porter classics! ( And that's the one I'll play again before Sunday becomes Monday).
The weekdays will take care of themselves if you have a song in your heart and a smile in your soul ( what an optimistic b**t**d !!).
Andrew. :)
P.S. Cole Porter is one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century.
P.P.S. If you don't have the two "Who" songs I quoted, get back to me, and I'll try and copy them for you.

Henning have you ever seen "Tommy" the Who rock opera. Brilllant film. And the Who also made "Quadrophia" another good film that really captured Britain during the Mods and Rockers period.

Andrew and Paula,

I have not been too much into the Who - I only found Rogers solo album back in 74 and I always loved it.
