Keen observation Steven - I did see the photo of Janis Joplin but never noticed the misspelled name. I ordered an album of the Dysfunctional Family Jazz Band after seeing this performance. I like to think of these as original performances (of songs by other composers) rather than covers since both performances are very creative. Frank Sinatra never sang an original his entire career but nobody calls the songs he sang as covers.

A friend of mine saw Townes Van Zandt at one of his very last performances at a small club in Dallas - said he seemed in good spirits but was more interested in sharing dirty jokes with the audience than actually singing.

p.s. Note the guy playing bass - Tony Garnier - is Dylan's bassman and looks suspiciously like Dylan himself (as in the Love and Theft cover) or his brother.
