at approximately 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time U.S. Rodney Crowell will be discussing his memoir "Chinaberry Sidewalks."

To my knowledge, this is the first public announcement of Rodney's upcoming visit to the WCHE Entertainment
and Culture Show. Rodney Crowell was interviewed on NPR's Fresh Air by Terry Gross and I believe that the Fresh Air interview will be rebroadcast this weekend as part of the Fresh Air Weekend Edition.

I look forward to reading "Chinaberry Sidewalks" and wonder if Leonard Cohen will write a memoir of his own.

Rodney Crowell, Lyle Lovett (ex-Mr. Julia Roberts) and Billy Joe Shaver are all artists that I feel I ought to know more of. I plan on starting with Lyle Lovett and his Large Band (its not big, its large....his words not mine), move on to Rodney Crowell's Fate's Right Hand and end up with Billy Joe Shaver's Austin City Limits album.
Sometime back I heard Waylon Jennings version of Old Five and Dimers which I had always assumed was a Jerry Jeff Walker original but it turns out it was penned by Billy Joe Shaver.

Billy Joe Shaver wrote a book called "Honky Tonk Hero." I recommend it.

Rodney Crowell is one of the greatest American singer-songwriters that a lot of folks never heard of--I'm glad you know of him. He was married to Roseanne Cash. Some of his songs (especially my fave "Don't Want to Crawl" )are on Roseanne's albums in my collection, though I regret I don't have any of his own recordings. And hey, Steve, I'm also a big fan of Terry Gross / Fresh Air. I listen to her on my local NPR station almost every night ! I heard the interview with Rodney recently, with the funny bits about how intimidated he was, upon first meeting his future father-in-law...ha!
