His self-portraits keep getting better and better. I love his references to old age and the effect it is having on him. Such sarcasm, wit, and humor are what makes his pictures let us see another side of him.
I agree with Paula about how his drawings show no ego. That description is dead-on. The words he writes on the pictures make me laugh everytime!

I agree with Paula's assessment regarding their showing no ego ~ and with Sean's that "such sarcasm, wit, and humor are what makes his pictures let us see another side of him." Spot on ~ both of you.
Now ~ that I've gone to see the drawing itself, I feel it's the most realistic of his renderings of himself. Fewer number of lines. I like it a lot. I love his final words with it:
"an old man
with his pen
deeply familiar
with his
predicament"
