How beautiful, SongKathy. I love this and you have written so many words of wisdom within it.

Songkathy,

You have two very good verses in your poem.

So passions's precluded
For him and the Moon.
He looked too little
And left to soon.

But my sister and I
Find plenty of love
There are more than just poets
Who are looking above.

These last two lines are particularly good.

If you rethought some of the other verses and tightened them up a bit you would have a great poem.

Sincerely,

eeey

Regarding your comments, eeey, I also especially like

"To see all at once
Is to see not at all"

as well as the last two verses. I really like the poem...period....as a gentle comeuppance [sp???].

Yes, Possibly a gentle comeuppance which the gentleman in question seems to call for in his own poem which in turn is an oblique explanation of his sometimes difficult behavior and nature. My own poem was both serious and a just for fun effort. Kathy

Yes, your poem's words of wisdom within it made some very good points that I feel Leonard would also be more attentive to these days. One of Roshi's teachings at the monastery [directed to all, not just Leonard] ~ in the article "Several Lifetimes Already" written by Pico Iyer in Shambhala Sun, September 1998 [aha! that's where I read his writing....he's doing the liner notes for Leonard's upcoming Essential cd set ~ unless I have my "unfamiliar" names mixed up, but I don't think so] included: " 'You've been hypnotized,' he goes on. 'You've got to take your mind to the laundry. Get it clean.' And, he concludes, 'When a man is with a woman, he has to occupy her fully.' " and to quote you, be it a woman or the moon, "Loving takes longer / Than just one look." The poem is a lovely match to his.
