Reflections




The reflections that I have allowed to dominate my thoughts must cease,

a new era awaits me free from the needless prejudices of the past.

I have done my best by them and have attempted to afford them release

from the old regrets binding them to this world that have not passed.

Light a candle in a window that allows a view of the future we share

so that we might stumble our way towards its promise through the night.

The reflections that I have allowed to dominate my thoughts are impaired

with the shadows of those commitments I made that were not right.
