O.Autumn (for Vanessa Ellis)
O.Autumn (for Vanessa Ellis)
O.Autumn
(for Vanessa Ellis)
"Massive feemale ejaculayshins."
"WHere Are YoU Now, Vanessa Ellis?"
whose subject line
reads:
"O.Autumn. Don’t beSHy."
These I read each day
[thanks to unsolicited
email]
and the poetry contained
therein
I’ve duly noted.
(Just where are you, anyway,
Vanessa Ellis? -- and do you love
Autumn?)
When you ride the F train, Vanessa Ellis, do you take
the very last car? And is
that you, Vanessa Ellis, pushing your way through the subway
crowds, while listening to the accordion man’s plaintive rendition
of The Godfather theme song? (hopefully for
the very last time)..
Are you philosophical, Vanessa Ellis? suddenly realizing how
all things are exactly as they are. Nothing more.
(Like words.)
Is your apartment small, Vanessa Ellis? Are its walls cracked and
yellowing? and do you try to keep the place hopeful seeming with
fresh cut flowers (even just now and then?) Or does your
sweetheart do this, if you have a sweetheart –– and if
you do,
is he shy like you, Vanessa Ellis? And
is he the one
that makes you cum?
Poor Vanessa Ellis [whose subject line reads: O.Autumn], having
lived here in this rancid city for so long now, just how do you keep so
unspoiled? Or are you hardened now, Vanessa Ellis? [is this about
sex? you must now be thinking] for how willing are you to be broken,
yet again (hopefully for the very last time).. [yes,
I believe it is]..
My guess is that she’s wandering the streets [Vanessa Ellis]; her
hair is dingy and unkempt, but no matter. She’s still a lover. [Of that we
are certain.] And nothing that’s happened –– all the disappointments (the death, even,
not just of her dear cat, but of her father, too, quite
unexpectedly) –– no, none
of this
has been enough
to condemn the hopefulness
afforded us
when contemplating the
lowly,
and the wise, and
the lovely
[especially when bathed]
Vanessa Ellis.

Wow Violet!!!
Thank you for this journey in search of the lovely Vanessa Ellis of the e-mail box, who has fresh flowers (when she can) and the occasional bath. I was completely absorbed when reading this.

That poem drew me right in Violet,I want to know more about Vanessa Ellis and her life.
It reminds me a little bit of The Beatles 'Eleanor Rigby'.

Hi C., and little k., and G. again.. it's nice this poem is appreciated.. it's been hanging around, and I finally felt it would be a good one to post.. I actually don't get that line of junk e-mails anymore -- now mostly it seems to be about the length of.. well, you know.. which I guess would require a poem called: Where are you now, Van Ellis??.. (and has your size really been enhanced??)..
.. anyway.. even as this poem has a sense of humor to it.. it does, as Gerry said, get rather sad too.. and I kind of like that combination..
thanks again for the comments,

.. hey kwills, I thought I'd try this.. see if it resonates with the sad little tale being told in the poem.. it's quite a good cover, I think..

Hi Violet
Loved the poem made me smile, in a sad way (if you know what i mean?)
I agree with kwills about the Elanor Rigby, It also reminded me of Helen Reddy's 'Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress)'
Great poem!

Hi K.. wow, Helen Reddy.. it's been a long time since I've heard a Helen Reddy number.. here's Red Dress.. actually, there's a mix here.. two songs she does for Johnny Carson.. then this "virtual" video comes on alongside Angie Baby.. pretty trippy.. anyway.. don't know how long this mix goes on for.. if you're in a Helen Reddy sort of mood, you can just leave it going, I guess.. (I'm actually thinking of going out and buying a halter dress of some kind now) (!)..

.. Oh, I thought this other poem of mine might also go with Helen's Ruby Red Dress number.. (since obviously this Ruby person has some serious issues)..
Body of Reason
the car hit a tree ––
her legs,
all he was ever after; the
old Oak, then, not
a step down.
take time
she thought
the way her lips left their marks
he’d be back. his proximity
the victim of loyalty’s
fragility.
incest was not obvious
cars, legs
lost chances
being done with it
this sex thing
she thinks this but not really
having herself identified.

Hi V
Loved the clip (not sure about the dress).
I also liked her singing 'I am woman' (powerful song)
I like this line
'the victim of loyalty’s
fragility'
great line.

Re: O.Autumn (for Vanessa Ellis)
.. hi k.. thanks for the line appreciation.. so.. really?? you think a 70's retro halter look wouldn't do the trick at this point?.. hmm.. I have rather dainty shoulders (not like Helen's) and so thought it might be becoming.. I may have to rethink this now..
.. oh, yeah.. I guess the poor girl in my poem might have a lot on her plate.. but do we really know what Ruby Red Dress's problems stem from??.. (I can't believe I'm now contemplating a Helen Reddy pop tune).. Oh, I didn't get to "I am woman!".. I wondered if that one would come up.. (I'll have to re-visit)..

Hi V
You never know you could re-start the halter neck trend. And you could be Violet in Vogue.
I think Ruby had problems with some mucky little farm boy (had to be a man involved).
