This quiet kiss

I had to spend some time waiting in the car this morning.. it’s an awful dark and rainy sort of day.. rather English seeming (methinks).. I had a pen.. but nothing to write on.. so I tore off the top of a Twinings Tea box.. and commenced writing on its inside.. just a little love poem.. dashed off.. to go with the weather, I guess..


This quiet kiss

It’s stupid, I know,
but I just want your lips.
Still, wouldn’t life feel the same,
even with your kiss?

I’d still awake, and
have to start another day;
I’d still be wondering what I’m doing..
(what happens next?).. (what floundering play?)
.. and running errands.. and little things..
.. or major hopes (in tarot Kings)..

So, I’m stupid, I guess,
as you’re all through me now, and it hurts.. unless..

.. your sweet face.. your saddest eyes..
