A SOLDIER CATCHING DREAMS

Was he dreaming
or did she call his name?
He sees the poppies dancing,
blazing orange flames,
Then she quietly knelt beside him,
and gently took his hand.

Awakened by the shock of tears
in his open palm
Oh no.. not hers it seems
just softish drops of rain.

Drifting into sleep
then waking to the nightmare
Shouts, screams and flashes
Suffocating air

Black on black on black
Duller getting duller
Catching dreams at play
or realities despair?
Somebody must have died for you
A Thousand Kisses Deep
