Does this mean you'll be returning sooner than expected; or you'll look for another job there to stay out the intended year; or, perhaps, just quit and travel some before returning. It sounds like a real Pandora.

i did make some major changes, namely i resigned from the youth gig, for the director was an ass and not willing to meet eye to eye.
he lost his "gamble" as he put the scenario.( when i told him he would not be able to hook anyone on the same terms for the futute, his response- "its a gamble i'm willing to take".!!!)
so moving right along, i am coming to terms directly with school where i do dormitory counselling and thats moving along
i am so glad i did not put up with it a second longer! a real relief, twas.

I know the relief of walking away, out from under a ton of bricks, Elazar. I guess 'giving notice' doesn't have the same import under your circumstances, as it would here. It sounds like, at best, it wasn't a good fit. At worst, it sounds like it was untenable.....an employer who is deceptive and with whom it's impossible to communicate. Good for you !

I hope you are okay. ALthough you've been brief it's obvious you've had a woeful time. I was totally screwed over in a job I had recently. There is very little support in spite of what legislation or mission statements say.
Anyway, this isn't making much sense but wanted to say hang in there, and let us know if you need a sounding board!!

.they say you can not fight city hall, i say damn right you can't! they are self serving. perfectly in the right and juster then G-d himself, in their view.if they do have an iota of a conscience, it does not show, and probably torments them to no end.so i then am forced to make decisions that may piss off people, including my friends.such are the ways of fate.i may be completely in the wrong,just proud and all, but i would not want anyone to have to go through this.my friends may want me to go back with my tail between my legs, with slogans like "dont be a quiter" "dont let them get at you" etc...so i shrug and am emotionaly drained, and confused."the voice inside me" says you have put up with enough, time to move on.who can know where the path of life can take one,yet definately one can excersize free choice.i want to be self reliant, yet here i am in a foriegn country with zilch.i can cut my losses and head back home to the states or stay on at the behest of my dear cohenistic friends and within their circle.they are just the best and Oz is great country.its an experience,an adventure,if you will.hmmmm
so for now i am "entertaining" the idea of staying on, for once i leave thats it.i am very grateful to them and love them and their company.they genuinely are welcoming and kind.so i stay....

Just my own [albeit unsolicited] suggestion, Elazar.....try to, better yet.... simply trust and go with the flow of the support you're getting, look around for an unusual, interesting job [unless money is truly an issue for you], and with eyes wide open for what may be around the next corner, explore as many nooks and crannies as you can in Oz. You're young; you still have the time, your youth, energy, and pizazz; you're already there and it's expensive to return. Go for the stories you can remember and tell in the years to come, once you've returned. You already have one, corporate prostitute one under your belt
. I learned long ago that until one door closes, another cannot open. And the rewards behind that new door can be truly awesome. Sometimes we have to wait on hindsight to realize and feel the comfort of the truth in that. Your support system is top notch! As long as there's nothing compelling you to be back here ~ stay there, reframe the issue[s], and enjoy, my friend ! I mean it with all my heart.
If you simply can't relate to any of the above, at least wait until June and come home by way of the Event .

Peopel will always tell you not to be a quitter but I think wisdom comes when you know when to listen to them or to yourself. I quit but then came back to finish something which I had started. It was the hardest thing in the world to come back, but for myself if I hadn't I could never move beyond the "event". Sounds cryptic??
When you are feeling depressed it's hard to know what is the right thing by yourself and others. Don't make any decisions. Look after yourself and when you get over the shellshock of the recent times make the next move. If you want to PM about this feel free.

After that, there is no "X" that appears when you click back to a previous posting of your own.
