Seaside Solitude

in the images inside the nightmares of your damaged brain
where scenes are constantly changing as fast as the pouring rain
walking over diamond coloured stones on the primeval shore
mansions in the distance, like some forgotten folklore
entering the caves and caverns of the trolls and the elves
trying very hard to explore the reality of yourself
polygons, patterns and the merging of dots and squares
do create confusions at the base of the grand marble white stairs
Gone with the wind and scarlett o'hara
no substituting this feeling for running mascara
rising all above this horrible circus of dross
entering into a period of solitude, pain and loss
reflecting over the snowflakes and the icy cold of the frost
you begin to see a pattern that emerges in every living thing
a cosmic force, a oneness, a texture, the appearance of spring
and then you will realise that you are not alone
you were the birth of venus out of the sea and the foam
