there are birds in my chimley
and they lose it due to CO
and fall to the basement floor
crawl out the water heater vent
then get mangled by my dog
who then puts the bloody heart
at the door for me to step on
figure it was just mud
and find a bloody spot on the floor
along with a tiny heart
in the light
WTF
My old friend Chad Neal, whom I knew in high school, just showed this to me. I don't know if he knows it qualifies as poetry. He might not have put the wtf there if he had, but I don't know for sure.

"chimley" -what a loveny new word...
By the standards of this forum it doesn't qualify as poetry as it doesn't contain
1. the word "soul"
2. the word "heart" (yes it does, ed.)
3. the word "lie"
4. a simplistic couplet written just for the sake of a simplistic rhyme, like "lover" and "queen under her cover"
or
5. a truly dreadful line like "dispreached by the diamonds under his knees" which the writer claims has a secret meaning that he is desperate to tell the reader as soon as the reader stops laughing (therefore never).
