Leonard Cohen Live in London to air on TV this week!

Post by Walsh75 »

Just checking my on-screen cable guide for tomorrow night here in Detroit.

We get CBC TV out of Canada too, which is channel 9 on the dial. The guide says LC Live in London will air tomorrow night from 8-9pm!

Obviously it will be an edited down version of the DVD for hour long TV.

At first I was shocked but this isn't uncommon. VH-1 Classic aired David Gilmour Live in Gdnask the same week it was released, and they, along with PBS have aired the "Dark Side of the Moon" segment from Pink Floyd's Pluse DVD countless time.

Hi Walsh,

Well, those of us in Michigan who have AT&T as their cable provider have NO CBC! I didn't realize that until after I was hooked up last summer. My DVD is arriving tomorrow so it's not a big thing, BUT, I really do miss the CBC. Fortunately I'll be able to pick up the interview and all the rest via radio and podcast. Enjoy!

I should note for those in the various time zones that by "tonight" I mean Wed. April 1 at 8pm Eastern Standard Time in North America for those that get the channel and don't want any confusion.

CBC sure dropped the ball on that one, didn't they?

Nah. I thought they did the best they could given the hour. First set of the playlist was good, with all his hits. Don't know if I would have put First We Take Manhattan in there and I'm Your Man. But I would assume the song choices may have not been CBC's choice or editing, but LC's people/record company.

The look of the show/DVD sucked. Glad I didn't buy it. Too dark and mid to late 80's looking production. But I will rent it from Netflix and love the CD's.
